I’m releasing this book in the middle of the biggest drought California has ever seen (since records started being kept 100 years ago).  I am more inspired than ever to share the message of this story.  In addition to California’s drought, other states and countries are experiencing many water challenges.  According to the United Nations, 783 million people, or 11 per cent of the global population, remain without access to a good source of drinking water.  This decade in particular, the global community has helped some 1.3 billion people in developing countries gain access to safe drinking water.  Women and children spend 140 million hours a day collecting water (water.org).  Investment in drinking water and sanitation would result in 272 million more school days a year (thesamburuproject.org).  These statistics inspire me to make a difference by giving back to organizations that provide resources to improve people’s access to water around the world.  Thank you for being a part of our mission by buying this book.
